Nearest Towns and Villages

Great Snoring is an unspoilt and peaceful Conservation village, with the River Stiffkey flowing around the outskirts. The medieval village of Walsingham with shops and pubs is 2 miles away, if you fancy walking there you can take the scenic bridal path! Fresh eggs can be purchased from the farm in the centre of the village (as featured on BBC2's "Great British Menu" programme) and you’ll find more facilities for shopping in Fakenham, 4 miles away.

Sculthorpe, is a friendly Norfolk village, a couple of miles south west of Great Snoring. We have two nice pubs in Sculthorpe, one within walking distance, the other a 5 minute car trip away, both serving good food! Fakenham is a just over a mile away and the coast just 8 miles.

Some towns and villages worth a visit;

Wells-next-the-Sea – a lovely traditional seaside town with plenty of shops, a working fishing port, amusement arcade and some nice restaurants and pubs.

Burnham Market – very fashionable, lots of nice shops, the ‘Humble Pie’ deli, The Hoste Arms Hotel, a great fish restaurant, an excellent local butcher, baker and fishmonger plus the famous Hat Shop.

Holt – A bustling Georgian town, it has lots to offer, a huge range of shops including many antique shops, gift shops, art galleries and a choice of excellent eateries, plus a lovely department store boasting "Norfolk's answer to Harrods!"

Blakeney – another traditional seaside village, a bit more upmarket than Wells, a lovely quay and again some nice little local shops and pubs.

Sheringham – a busy seaside resort which has all the usual shops, pubs, cafes and it’s very own theatre offering an excellent ‘Rep’ company during the summer.

Norwich – A fantastic city for shopping or sightseeing, a wonderful Cathedral, Museum, daily outdoor market and plenty of high street and individual shops.

National Trust Houses – www.nationaltrust.org.uk and many other stately homes. Blickling Hall, Ickworth House, Felbrigg Hall and Oxborough Hall.
